Ten percent of the population over the age of 65 has Alzheimer's, while nearly half of the population over 85 has the disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, is a voluntary health organization dedicated to finding preventions, treatments and, eventually, a cure for Alzheimer dementia. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families and caregivers.
We provide reliable information and care consultation; create supportive services for families; increase funding for dementia research; and influence public policy changes.
The Alzheimer's Association Central and North Florida Chapter offers a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, families, caregivers and professional care providers. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.
